Nagpur: The tragic deaths of three minors who were trapped inside an under-repair car in Farooque Nagar on Sunday are believed to be accidental. Following a five-hour post-mortem, forensic experts were unable to find any external or internal injuries on the bodies. The scorching heat inside the SUV resulted in blisters on the children’s tender skin, indicating possible suffocation due to being trapped inside the car, a report in a local English daily said.

The victims, Taufique Khan (4), his elder sister Aaliya (6), and their cousin Afreen (6), had reportedly opened the unlocked back door of the Jalgaon-passing SUV and entered playfully before getting trapped inside. Forensic experts indicated that the children may have died due to suffocation within an hour after being unable to open the door from inside on Saturday. The bodies had decomposed considerably due to the heat, making the post-mortem examination challenging.

According to the report, the autopsy was conducted overnight at Mayo Hospital by the post-mortem team, headed by Dr. Makrand Vyawahare, the Head of the Department of Forensic Sciences. The examination, which was videographed, revealed no signs of foul play. However, further analysis and test reports are required to reach a conclusive outcome. Blood samples, viscera, anal, and vaginal swabs have been preserved for chemical analysis and histopathological examination.

The Commissioner of Police, Amitesh Kumar, urgently requested the post-mortem examination, and the victims’ family members are fully cooperating with the investigators. As of now, no allegations have been made against anyone. The Pachpaoli Police Station, in charge of the case, has classified it as an accidental death, pending any new developments or revelations.

The viscera reports will be sent to the Regional Forensic Science Laboratory (RFSL) for further analysis, and officials have requested expedited processing. These reports will play a crucial role in determining the cause of death and confirming whether the fatalities were indeed accidental.

The tragic deaths of three minors trapped inside an under-repair car in Farooque Nagar are currently being treated as accidental. The cooperation of the victims’ family members and the efforts of the forensic experts and police officials will contribute to a comprehensive analysis of the incident.
