Awareness session on cybercrime held at Jyotiba Junior College and MCVC

Nagpur: In a significant initiative to promote cyber safety, Ashish Choudhari and Manthan Tighare, passionate Cyber Warriors from Priyadarshini College of Engineering, Nagpur, conducted an extensive awareness session on cybercrime at Jyotiba Junior College and MCVC from 8:00 am to 9:00 am on Friday.

This program was organized under the “Cyber Shiksha for Cyber Suraksha” campaign, an effort driven by the Quick Heal Foundation in collaboration with Maharashtra Cyber to empower the younger generation against digital threats.

The session was honoured by the presence of the college’s Principal, G. N. Lambat, who thanked the organizers and underscored the importance of fostering cyber awareness among students. “In today’s digital landscape, it is crucial that students are well-equipped to safely navigate the online world. This initiative is a significant step toward that goal,” remarked Principal Lambat.

During the session, Ashish and Manthan covered various types of cybercrimes, such as online scams, phishing, identity theft, and cyber bullying. They provided practical advice on staying safe online, such as creating strong, unique passwords, identifying suspicious emails and links, and managing privacy settings on social media.

Dr. S. A. Dhale, Principal of Priyadarshini College of Engineering, also appreciated the initiative, highlighting the essential role of educational institutions in building cyber resilience among young minds. “Our students are not just learners but also torchbearers of digital safety. Such programs reinforce our commitment to fostering a safer online community,” he added.

The Cyber Warriors emphasized the importance of recognizing cyber threats, adopting protective measures, and understanding the proper channels for reporting cyber incidents.

The program was highly interactive, with students actively engaging and raising questions about digital security. It included real-world case studies and engaging activities to ensure a comprehensive learning experience for all attendees. The event concluded with students taking a pledge to remain vigilant and responsible in their online activities.
