Nagpur: Bahujan Sena Sanghatan that is planning to organise “Ravan Pujan” programme on September 29 has reportedly been denied permission by Heritage Conservation Committee as well as office of District Collector.
Two office-bearers of Bahujan Sena Sanghatan Sagar Dabrase and Praful Manke, in a press release, has claimed that they met Supriya Thool (Secretary, Heritage Conservation Committee) and sought permission for “Ravan Pujan” at Kasturchand Park. However, they were told that the permission is granted by Heritage Conservation Committee and District Collector. “When we met Heritage Conservation Committee and District Collector they did not communicate with us further. Our preparations for ‘Ravan Pujan’ have been completed. But we are in mental stress due to refusal of permission. Around 10-15 lakh devotees visit Deekshabhoomi for Dhammachakra Pravartan Din every year.”
Dejected by the refusal of permission for “Ravan Pujan” at Kasturchand Park, Bahujan Sena Sanghatan has sought permission at Samvidhan Square. If permission is granted, the Sanghatan will perform the programme between 2 and 5 pm on September 29. “We have also submitted a letter to Heritage Conservation Committee and office of District Collector under Right To Information seeking reply as why they were refused permission. After receiving the RTI reply, we will file a petition against the authorities in High Court,” Dabrase and Manke said.
