Balloon seller booked for kid’s death after cylinder explosion

Nagpur: Balloon seller Satyendra Singh, whose cylinder had exploded leading to the death of a four-year-old boy on Sunday, was booked by the Sadar police for causing death due to negligence.

The incident had taken place near the old VCA stadium at Sadar, causing panic in the area for some time. Singh, who is yet to be nabbed, was transferring gas from one cylinder to another when one of them exploded, said police.

The cylinder, which was flung away due to the blast impact, landed on the head of the Sijan Shaikh who along with his father Aseef Ali was standing close to the balloon seller.

Sizan’s aunts, Fariya Ali and Anmata Shaikh, too were injured . They were rushed to Mayo hospital where Sizan was declared dead.
