Nagpur Police have decided to crack the whip. Those buffs, who circulate objectionable contents such as obscene, lascivious pictures, videod, messages with ulterior motives and deliberately hurt sentiments of people, have been put on the notice. So delete such contents immediately.

Beware! Next time if you misuse the social media, you could be cooling heels behind the bars for cool seven years!! Finally, Nagpur Police have decided to crack the whip. Those buffs, who circulate objectionable content like obscene, lascivious pictures, video, message with ulterior motives and deliberately hurt sentiments of people, have been put on the notice. Cops will keep a hawk eye on mischievous contents circulated by miscreants by misusing social networking sites like Facebook, Tweeter, YouTube and WhatsApp messenger on mobiles aimed at misguiding and hurting sentiments. Now police have warned the users of social media to immediately delete the controversial contents from their networking or face the music.

It would be a grave crime to circulate contents with ulterior motives aimed at hurting religious and caste sentiments and feelings, spreading any kind of rumours, tarnishing a person’s reputation of character, sending objectionable and defaming messages, video clips, vulgar photos, posting controversial picture or vido clips, clicking like option, sharing, commenting and forwarding the obnoxious contents. The crime has been categorized and the perpetrators would be booked by cops under Sections 295(A)(B) of the IPC and Sections 66(A), 67 of Information and Technology Act 2000. The offenders could be sent to jail for at least seven years.

Police have appealed the citizens to be alert while using social networking such as Facebook, WhatsApp, YouTube, Tweeter and avoid tough action. Citizens have been asked to immediately delete any controversial message they receive on these social media from any quarter and also not to respond with options “like” or “Not liked.” If the citizens see any objectionable photo then click on (1) sign and then click on “Report This Post” and then select “I Think It Should Not Be On Facebook,” then click on Continue and thereafter select appropriate option and click on “Submit to Facebook For Review” and Done. This process will immediately delete the controversial matter or picture from your Facebook, WhatsApp, YouTube, Tweeter and would be on safer side.

The main aim of police move is to curb such anti-social activities that tend to deprave and corrupt the persons who are likely to read, see or hear the same. The miscreants, in connivance with each other and other unknown persons are found circulating the objectionable content and thus promoting hatred or communal disharmony from their respective websites.
