Patna: The rift between Bihar’s ruling alliance was widened on Saturday with Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav skipping an event where he was to share dais with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
Tejashwi’s name plate was earlier covered, and then removed, at the ‘Vishwa Yuva Kaushal Divas’ in Patna, which was to be attended by Kumar.
Tejashwi’s name was mentioned in the invitation.
Earlier, The Janata Dal-United ramped up pressure on alliance partner Rashtriya Janata Dal over the corruption case involving Tejashwi Yadav, asking it to come clean on the allegations against him.
Tejashwi, son of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad, has been named by the CBI as an accused in its probe into the land-for-hotels scam case.
State JD-U chief spokesman Sanjay Singh said the RJD should provide facts and not ‘display arrogance’ of having 80 MLAs in the 243-member Bihar assembly.
The JD-U also said that Nitish will not compromise on corruption.
However, RJD supreme Lalu Yadav later informed that Tejashwi will not resign.
