Biker knocked dead by speeding truck in Hudkeshwar

Nagpur: A recklessly driven truck knocked a biker dead in Hudkeshwar police area on Thursday.

The deceased, Swapnil Ananta Hatwar (30), was a resident of Virgaon. On Thursday, around 2.30 pm, Swapnil was returning home from duty at Makardhokda Mines on his Honda Shine bike (MH-40/W 3751). Midway on Virgaon-Umred Road, a speeding Eicher truck (MH-40/AK 3378) hit Swapnil’s bike in great force. Swapnil, as a result, suffered grievous injuries and died on the spot. The driver of the truck reportedly fled after the mishap.

Hudkeshwar PSI Pachode, acting on a complaint lodged by Ananta Hatwar (57), father of deceased, booked the unidentified truck driver under Sections 279, 304(A), 337, 427 of the IPC read with Section 134 of Motor Vehicles Act and searching for him.
