Bill Gates relishes tea made by Nagpur’s famous Dolly Chaiwala

Nagpur: Microsoft founder Bill Gates on Wednesday shared a video on Instagram with Nagpur-based tea seller who is popularly known as ‘Dolly Chaiwalla’, and praisedIndia’s innovation culture. As soon as the American billionaire businessman, who is currently on a visit to India, posted the video, it quickly went viral.

‘In India, you can find innovation everywhere you turn, even in preparation of a simple cup of tea,’ the tech titan and philanthropist said in a post shared along with the video. Dolly Chaiwalla’s roadside tea stall is located near the old VCA Stadium in Nagpur’s Sadar area. The real name of the tea seller, a popular figure on social media, is not known, but he is famously called Dolly Chaiwalla.

Since being shared online, the clip has clocked in over 13 million views. Social media users, especially Indians, were pleasantly surprised and delighted and called it an “unexpected collaboration”. Some even deemed it a “multiverse”.

Meanwhile, Dolly Chaiwala became a social media sensation after his unconventional way of preparing tea grabbed a lot of eyeballs. Coupled with his quirky style, his tea stall in Nagpur is no less than a tourist attraction and is frequented by curious travellers.

In the Instagram post, users can see Gates expressing his appreciation for the innovation present in India. “In India, you can find innovation everywhere you turn—even in the preparation of a simple cup of tea!” the billionaire captions his post. Millions of people have viewed and liked Gates’ viral video.
