Nagpur: The elections of Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s District Planning Council were held on Tuesday Nov 28. The counting began today morning at10 am at Bachat Bhavan in the premises of District Collector’s Office.

Continuing its dominance BJP swept the District Planning Council (DPC) elections winning 18 seats out of 19 where as Congress managed to get just one seat.

It may be recalled that Pravin Datke former Mayor had demanded a separate DPC for Nagpur and at that time it was Cong government. Today if the demand was made the city would have got a separate DPC because it is BJP’s government in state. But the NMC office bearers cannot go against the wishes of Guardian Minister. DPC is just for the name as finally it is for the Guardian Minister to decide where to pay more attention. The city often gets very less funds.
