Nagpur News: In order to protest against the alleged manhandling of the women activists of Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha (BJYM) at Nagpur University Dikshaant Sabagruha Hall on February 14, 2014, a delegation of the female office-bearers of BJP met the Commissioner of Police, Nagpur K K Pathak and appraised him about the incident that happened on February 15, 2014 and demanded an inquiry into the incident, and for suitable action against the erring cops.
It could be mentioned here that on February 14, 2014, a delegation of about 30-40 engineering students under the leadership of Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha(BJYM), had gathered in Dikshant Sabhagriha Hall to meet the Vice Chancellor of RTMNU Dr.Vilas Sapkal. They were sitting peacefully waiting to speak to the Vice Chancellor about their woes, when the police forcefully evicted them from the University premises.
It is alleged that the women activists of BJYM which included the Vice President of BJYM Nidhi Kamdar and National Executive Member of the BJYM Shivani Dani were manhandled by police officials in order to evict them from the University premises.
While speaking to Nagpur Today Vice President of BJYM Nidhi Kamdar informed that the Commissioner of Police K K Pathak has condemned the incident and has apologized on behalf of the erring cops for what has happened with them. He assured the delegation that he will inquire into the incident and will take suitable action against the erring cops.
The delegation of BJYM-BJP included Nidhi Kamdar, Vice President, women cell BJP NGP Rupa Rai, Vrushali Sheledar, Dr. Kirtida Ajmera, Sumitra Lule, Meena Joshi, Charu Chendke and Shivani Dani met the Police Commisioner.
