Nagpur: With festival season at its peak, black marketeers of LPG cylinders have become active in Nagpur. Beltarodi Police arrested three persons, including two brothers, for black-marketing of LPG cylinders.
Cops seized 32 LPG cylinders of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) meant for domestic consumption, 19 LPG cylinders for commercial purposes, a Mahindra Alfa Diesel Tempo (MH-49/D-0987), two cell phones, a machine used for transferring LPG from one cylinder to another and other material collectively worth Rs 2.34 lakh from their possession.
The accused have been identified as Pawan Rakesh Rehar (20), a native of Iradat Nagar, tehsil Kheragarh, district Agra, Uttar Pradesh (UP), Ramu Kalicharan Rehar (22) and his brother Ravi Kalicharan Rehar (19), both natives of Shamshabad, district Agra (UP). They were staying in a rented accomodation at Plot Nos 33-34, Sai Charan Society, New Manish Nagar.
Cops caught the accused trio red-handed when they were illegally transferring the LPG from cylinders meant for domestic consumption to commercial ones.
A case under Sections 3 and 5 of the Essential Commodities Act against them. The arrests were made by Senior PI Mukund Kawade, PSI Amol Shinde and others under the supervision of Addl CP (South Region) Shivajirao Rathod, DCP (Zone-IV ) Rashmita Rao, ACP (Ajni Division) Vinayak Kote.
