Nagpur: As electric vehicles (EVs) gain popularity in Nagpur, a growing number of people are making the switch to eco-friendly transportation. However, alongside the enthusiasm for these vehicles, some owners are beginning to encounter significant issues with maintenance and service.
Several EV owners have reported that when their scooters require repairs, service centres are taking over a week to return them. This delay is causing frustration among customers who rely on their vehicles for daily commuting.
When Nagpur Today inquired about the situation at a local showroom, an employee explained the protocol for breakdowns. If a scooter breaks down in the middle of the road, the owner is provided with a consumer care number. Upon contacting this number, a mechanic is dispatched to the location within 15-20 minutes, depending on the distance. However, this service is only available if the breakdown occurs within 100 kilometres of the service centre.
While this quick response is reassuring, the prolonged wait times for repairs highlight a challenge that needs addressing as more residents turn to electric vehicles. With the demand for EVs on the rise, the pressure is mounting on service centres to meet the expectations of their customers.
