Boy run over by train while playing on railway track in Nagpur

Nagpur: An 11-year old boy was killed after he was hit by a train on the railway track near Baba Farid Nagar at Godhani in Mankapur area of Nagpur Tuesday night.

The deceased, Nitesh Dilip Sharnagat was a resident of Sector 16, Shrikrishnadham, Koradi Road, Mankapur. Around 10 pm, Nitesh was playing on the railway track a few metres from his house. Suddenly, he was hit by a train. Nitesh suffered serious injuries. He was rushed to Mayo Hospital where the doctors declared him ‘brought dead.’

On the basis of the information given by Dilip Sawanlal Sharnagat (46), father of the deceased, Mankapur Police registered an accidental death case.

e-Rickshaw knocks cyclist dead in Shanti Nagar

A senior citizen was killed after an e-Rickshaw knocked him down in Shanti Nagar area in the small hours of Tuesday. The accused e-Rickshaw driver, who was driving in an inebriated condition, has been arrested by Shanti Nagar Police.

Identified as Wamanrao Bhanarkar (64), the deceased was a resident of Zade Chowk, Bastarwadi, Lalganj. Bhanarkar was going on a bicycle around 10.15 pm on Monday night. At Zade Chowk, an e-Rickshaw (MH-49/CF2249) hit his bicycle from behind. Bhanarkar fell off the bicycle and was seriously injured. He was rushed to Samarpan Hospital. As per the doctors’ advice, Bhanarkar was referred to Mayo Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Shanti Nagar Police registered a case under Sections 279, 304(2) of the Indian Penal Code, read with Section 185 of the Motor Vehicle Act, against e-Rickshaw driver Husain Mustafa Ranalwale (34) and took him into custody.
