Bride deserts hubby after spending first night, brought back from Bhusawal by ‘awed’ police

In a bizarre development, a bride left husband after spending the first night. However, police brought her back after two days as the both sides had reached the Police Station.

According to Kamptee police, the Lakadganj resident Salim (Name changed) got married to the girl, resident of Varispura, Kamptee, on December 29. The newly married couple reached home in Lakadganj on the same night. The second day, all her relatives and others went to attend another marriage.

According to reports, the bride and her two friends were in the house on that day. However, the bride, taking the advantage of the situation, escaped from the house from the back door in the afternoon. When her husband and other relatives reached home after attending the wedding, the bride was not to be seen anywhere. Both the sides tried to trace her but failed. Finally, they reached Kamptee Police Station and informed them about the incident. Police too were awed by the incident. Interestingly, the marriage reception was decided on December 31.

The incident put husband and other relatives in a dilemma of their life. How can a reception organized without the bride? However, they went ahead with the reception as the invitation cards were distributed and the guests had started arriving for the same knowing the fact very well. The guests enjoyed the reception but felt ashamed to hand over the gifts.

According to police, the bride was traced in Bhusawal while planning to leave for Mumbai. Kamptee police brought her back to Kamptee. Now, she is with her parents.
