Nagpur: In a sensational incident, a brother first attacked his elder sibling and later, on the pretext of taking him to hospital for treatment, threw him in a water canal with the intention of disposing of his body. The accused brother has reportedly been arrested.
The incident took place on August 27, 2016 midnight. The accused Sachin Chunbad Shahu (28), resident of Balabhaupeth, Shahu Mohalla of Pachpaoli area, attacked his elder brother Rupesh with wooden rafter and inflicted serious injuries on his head and hand and legs. The reason for the attack was trivial. Rupesh had just demanded the key of motorcycle. The accused refused to hand over the key and instead assaulted Rupesh brutally. Later, the accused Sachin, on the pretext of taking Rupesh to hospital for treatment, put him in a vehicle (Tata Ace MH-31/D3376) and proceeded towards Kamptee.

Midway, apparently knowing that Rupesh died in the attack, the accused Sachin threw him in a water canal with the intention of disposing of his body. Rupesh’s body was discovered after a few days and was identified by his mother Geeta Chunbad Shahu (55).
On the basis of a complaint lodged by Geeta, Pachpaoli PSI Kachore booked the accused Sachin Shahu ynder Sections 302, 201 of the IPC and reportedly arrested him. Further probe is underway.
