Budget Allocation of 10,600 Crore INR for Central Railways to Propel Infrastructure Development

Nagpur: In the financial budget, a substantial allocation of funds has been made for the railways, with a total budget of crores of rupees. The state of Maharashtra has been granted 15,554 crores, with 10,600 crores earmarked for the Central Railways. This financial infusion aims to foster the development of railway infrastructure.

On Thursday, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the interim budget for 2024-25, making several significant announcements for the entire state and specifically for Nagpur and Vidarbha. The highest budget allocation has been directed towards infrastructure, with a focus on laying new rail lines and improving traffic facilities.

The budget includes:

750 crores for the new 270 km Wardha-Nanded line
125 crores for the third line on the Wardha-Nagpur route
120 crores for the fourth line on the Wardha-Nagpur route
200 crores for the third line on the Wardha-Ballarshah route
320 crores for the Itarsi-Nagpur route

Additionally, 7.5 crores have been allocated for the development of Ajni station and the satellite terminal. The South East Central Railways under the Nagpur Mandal has received an allotment of 455 crores for new and third lines. These initiatives aim to enhance rail connectivity and infrastructure in the region.
