Nagpur: Nitin Gadkari, the Union Road Transport and Highways Minister on Sunday directed MHADA officers to build a state-of-the-art Garment Zone with all facilities for traders on MHADA site located on Subhash Road in Nagpur.
The Minister also directed that space should be made available to the traders at a lower than the market price. Manufacturing facilities at this garment hub will also provide a large number of jobs to women, Gadkari added.
In the meeting held at Gadkari’s residence, MHADA Vice President Sanjeev Jaiswal, Commissioner of Nagpur Municipal Corporation Dr. Abhijit Chaudhary, Managing Director of Maharashtra State Textile Corporation Gadilkar, reperentatives of MHADA’s contractor B.G. Shirke Company, representatives of Hafeez Contractor, business representatives Vinay Jain, Rinku Jain and others were present.
A multi-storeyed building will be constructed on MHADA site in the area next to Geeta Mandir on Subhash Road where showrooms for traders and space for workshop will be provided on upper floors. This will also benefit small traders Gadkari said and also gave instructions to the officials about the design of the complex.
