Burglars decamp with booty worth Rs 2.16 lakh

BurglaryNagpur: In yet another house-breaking theft, thieves made away with booty worth Rs 2.16 lakh from the residence of one Bhavitavya Omprakash Shrivastav (38), a resident of Palace Abhyankar Road, Dhantoli.

Dhantoli police said, the theft took place between October 20 and October 22 when Bhavitavya had gone to meet his grandfather in Bhopal. Meanwhile, some unidentified thieves barged into his house by breaking the grill of his door. They stole gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 2.16 lakh from the almirah. The theft came to fore when Bhavitavya reached home on October 22. On the basis of the complaint lodged by Bhavitavya, Dhantoli police have registered an offence under Sections 454, 457 and 380 of the IPC and booked the unknown thieves.
