Nagpur: Burglars struck at three different places in city and laid their hands valuables and other booty collectively valued at around Rs 4 lakh. No arrests have been made in the thefts so far.
In the first incident, house of Ajinkya Pradeep Nilawar (28) in Building No. 5, behind RTO, was targeted by the thieves. The burglary occurred when wife of Ajinkya locked the house and went out for some work around 10.30 am. The thieves broke open the door lock and decamped with cash of Rs 3000 and gold ornaments collectively valued at Rs 1,13,000. Based on a complaint, Sitabuldi PSI Wankhede has registered an offence under Sections 454, 390 of IPC.
In the second incident, the criminals struck at a kirana (grocery) shop in Itwari area and stole cash of Rs 12,000 and silver coins from counter of the shop. Booty totaling Rs 1,02,000 was burgled from the Kirana shop named Sukhsagar Kirana Stores which is owned by Meghraj Asool Gyanani (55), resident of Ambedkar Square in Lakadganj area. The goons gained entry in the shop after bending the shutter in the intervening night of Friday and Saturday. Lakadganj API Rajurwar is investigating the case.
Similarly, steel and iron material worth Rs 1,68,670 was stolen from a construction site. The VRCL Ltd Company run by Sriram Keshav Marodkar, resident of Empress Mill Society, is carrying out construction at Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran Jalshuddhikaran Kendra in Dham on Panjra Road.
