Candidate nabbed for cheating in Nagpur Jail recruitment exam

Nagpur: Mankapur Police arrested a candidate using an electronic device — MicSpy earpiece — to cheat in a recruitment examination for jail sepoys in Nagpur and seized the gadget from him.

Identified as Kisan Sitaram Jonwal (27), the accused is a resident of village Tartyachi Wadi, taluka Vaijapur, district Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Cops also booked his accomplice Jeevan Kakarwal (29), a resident of Raghunathpur Wadi, taluka Vaijapur, district Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, who conspired with Kisan and was giving him answers on MicSpy electronic earpiece after he dictated him the questions of the written test which was being held at Krida Sankul, Mankapur in Nagpur.

According to police, Kisan had appeared for a physical test during the ongoing recruitment drive for the 252 posts of sepoys at Nagpur Central Jail. After he cleared the physical test, he was appearing for the written examination at Krida Sankul, Mankapur. He dictated the question paper to Jeevan who in turn was giving answers to him through the MicSpy electronic earpiece. Between 3.20 pm and 3.30 pm, the invigilator caught him red-handed when he was writing the answers after listening to them on the spy mic. Soon, Kisan was taken into custody and a MicSpy earpiece was seized from him.

Following a complaint lodged by Head Constable Prakash Katkar, a case under Sections 318(2)(4), 61 (2), (a), 223 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita against Kisan and Jeevan was registered. Police would soon arrest Jeevan in this connection.
