Car catches fire at Nagpur’s Ajni Square, no casualties

Nagpur: A Baleno car caught fire at Ajni Square while moving on Wardha Road on Monday evening. No one was injured in the fire that was doused by personnel of Fire and Emergency Services of Nagpur Municipal Corporation. For a while there was disruption in movement of traffic on the busy road as the incident occurred during the peak hour.

Piyush Agrawal, a resident of RTO Priyadarshini Nagar, was driving to Laxmi Nagar via Rahate Colony Square with a companion in a car (MH-31/FA/3406). At Ajni Square, the traffic signal was red so Agrawal stopped his car at the signal. Meanwhile, smoke began to emerge from the hood of his car.

Following this, flames started erupting from the car. Agrawal and companion immediately exited the car. The flames quickly devoured the engine, tires, and front portion of the car. The Fire Brigade was informed about the fire who rushed to the spot and doused the fire. The exact reason behind the fire is being probed.
