CAs real managers of economy: MSME Director Pralewar

Nagpur: Chartered Accountants are the real managers of the economy, said Director of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) P M Parlewar. He was speaking as chief guest at a programme organised at the Nagpur branch of ICAI in the city.

Speaking further Parlewar said he firmly believed that CAs play an important role in the development and promotion of MSME sector. He elaborated various schemes of MSME and hoped it will create new horizon for chartered accountants in MSME sector.

MIHAN is one of the largest SEZ in India and yet it is taking time to establish the small and medium industries in that area, he observed. Parlewar was instrumental in submitting the concept paper on the basis of which the Central government and Ministry of Commerce approved to reserve 10 per cent land in each SEZ for MSMEs sector which will have significant impact on boosting export through SEZs from MSME sector.

He informed that MSME is committed to establish export facilitation cell (EFC) in each MSME-DI all over country with single window facility. EFC will provide support to micro and small enterprises to establish unit and run it in SEZ as hiring consultant where CAs will play a vital role.

CAs can play a major role in new innovative project named as MSME –INNO which is in collaboration with German organisation that develops incubation centres where grant of upto Rs 1 crore will be provided for start-ups as seed capital.

Parlewar said with enhanced collaboration of ICAI and MSME Department, the small scale entrepreneurs will get all assistance from chartered accountants for exporting their product or services as entire facilities required for export promotion will be made available under one roof at MSME DI.

Session Chairman Julfesh Shah emphasised that there are several schemes launched by the government for benefit and development of small and medium industries like credit linked capital subsidy scheme, cluster development programme, export promotion schemes, lean manufacturing competitiveness scheme, credit guarantee scheme for MSME, interest subsidy scheme. CAs can play an important role for creating awareness among stakeholders.

CAs are engineers for promoting MSME schemes, said Suren Duragkar, Chairman Nagpur branch while praising the contribution of MSME Department. Duragkar said that MSME department has established lot of clusters, which are well informed to the industry through MSME department. CAs are instrumental in making these schemes successful.

The session was coordinated by Treasurer of Nagpur branch Jiten Saglani. Secretary Saket Bagdia proposed a vote of thanks.

Present on the occasion were Kirit Kalyani; Vice Chairman, Akshay Gulhane; Executive Committee Member, Garima Gupta, Sunil Khujnare, Assistant Director, MSME, Manish Jha, Investigator, MSME, Nagpur and over 150 chartered accountants.
