NAGPUR — The Wadi police have initiated legal proceedings against a physical education teacher and the principal of a private school for allegedly assaulting a 10-year-old student. The action follows a formal complaint lodged by the boy’s mother, leading to charges under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Juvenile Justice (JJ) Act.
Senior Police Inspector Rajesh Tatkare of the Wadi police station confirmed to local english newspaper, that a case has been registered against both the PT teacher and the school principal. “The allegations claim that the PT teacher and principal physically assaulted the boy. Given the seriousness of these accusations, we have registered a case and will thoroughly verify the claims before proceeding with further action,” PI Tatkare stated.
According to police reports, the boy, a student at the private school in Wadi, had previously expressed to his mother that he was being beaten by teachers. Initially, she dismissed these claims, believing her son must have been at fault. As a result, the boy began to avoid attending school.
Compounding the situation, police noted that the child has a health issue that requires him to use the washroom every half hour. Although his mother had informed the school administration of his condition, teachers allegedly denied him access to the washroom, exacerbating his health problems. The boy’s condition worsened, leading to his hospitalization in August. The police are now investigating the circumstances surrounding this troubling incident.
