Nagpur: The investigation launched into the alleged murder case of a vegetable vendor in Koradi, who was found dead on Sunday afternoon, revealed that it was a case of a bizarre accident!
According to police, a 30-year-old vegetable vendor, Amit Bais, with critical injuries was discovered in the Koradi area. He was rushed to the hospital in a serious condition where doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
Earlier, it was speculated that some unidentified assailant(s) had killed him, as police officials noted a severe injury to the upper part of Bais’s ear, reportedly caused by a blunt force, likely a boulder. Koradi Police, under the supervision of senior police officers, initiated a thorough investigation into the circumstances.
Following CCTV scanning, it was revealed that a dumper truck (MH40/CD/5903) driven by Rambhau Ajabrao Meshram, a resident of Civil Lines, Khaparkheda, took an abrupt reverse turn, hitting Bais. Following this, Bais sustained the injuries. Meshram then fled the spot and rushed to his home, where he narrated the entire episode to his wife, Laxmi.
Cops confirmed that Meshram has confessed to his role in the reverse turn which caused the accident.
Under the supervision of CP Ravinder Singal, Jt CP Aswati Dorje, Addl CP Sanjay Patil, Addl CP Shewale, DCP Zone 5 Niketan Kadam, ACP Santosh Khandekar, Senior PI Praveen Pande, and the Koradi Police squad conducted the investigation.
