Nagpur: In a significant crackdown by the Crime Branch Unit 2, a raid conducted at the closed Lal School room within the Gadigodam complex of the municipal corporation revealed 20 cows confined in cramped conditions. Subsequently, charges have been filed against 10 suspects. The accused individuals identified are Nazim Kureshi, Pyare Kureshi, Zakir Kureshi, Roshan Kureshi, Tanveer Kureshi, Nahid Kureshi, Arif Kureshi, Rizwan Kureshi, Mushtaq Kureshi, and Irshad Kureshi. These individuals reside in the Bucher Mohalla and Gadigodam area.
According to sources, the police received confidential information leading to the raid. During the operation, the distressing condition of the 20 cows was discovered in one of the rooms. There were no arrangements for their food and water. The accused had been utilizing the closed school premises for several days prior to the raid. Police seized property worth Rs. 3.65 lakhs from the scene. All the cows have been sent to a shelter. Charges have been filed against the accused under various sections, and investigations have commenced.
Under the guidance of DCP Goyal and ACP Abhijit Patil, the operation was executed with the coordination of PI Shubhangi Deshmukh, API Chambhare, Ganere, Davare, Changle, Kunwar, Pandey, Chavan, and Shripad.
