Central Railway extends one more facility & goes hi-tech in ticketing system with ATVM

The Automatic Ticket Vending Machine was dedicated on Monday by the high-profile Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Brujesh Dixit at Nagpur Booking Office (West Side).  The passengers, who prefer journey in unreserved coaches, would be more than pleased to avail the facility.

The Nagpur Division of Central Railway extended one more facility to passengers and went hi-tech in ticketing system, too. A New Year Gift in real sense. The passengers, who prefer journey in unreserved coaches, would be more than pleased to avail the facility.

The Automatic Ticket Vending Machine (ATVM) was dedicated on Monday (December 30) by the high-profile Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Brujesh Dixit at Nagpur Booking Office (West Side).  Other top officials who graced the occasion include Dr. Jaideep Gupta, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Dr. Sumant Deulkar, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, A. Ibrahim Sherrif, Senior Divisional Security Commissioner, B.K. Panigrahi, Senior Divisional Personal Officer,  Satyendra Shukla, Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer/General, Satyendra Kumar, Senior Divisional Operating Manager,  D R Tembhurney  Senior Divisional Engineer/Co-ordination and other officers and employees.

The salient features of this ticketing system are: 

1. It issues unreserved tickets for full fare journeys i.e. without any concessions.

2. Collection of money through Smart Card — relief from problem of change.

3. Smart Card at Rs 100 (Rs 50 as security deposit +Rs 50 for purchase of tickets).

4. The Smart Card can be recharged at the booking office in multiples of Rs 50.

5. Bonus of 5 per cent on purchase of tickets up to a distance of 150 kms.

6. The bonus is added to the balance in Smart Card.

7. Screen displays the written matter in Marathi, Hindi and English languages.

8. Tickets available for all destinations (via route option available).

9. List of 50 popular destinations displayed on the screen.

10. For other station, type the first 2-3 letters and select from the drop down list.

11. Maximum four (04) passengers can be booked in one ticket by choosing requisite number of adults or children.

12. Tickets can be purchased for Ordinary Passenger Trains/Mail/Express Trains or Superfast Trains.

13. Platform Tickets can also be purchased from these ATVMs.

14. Confirm the details and get the print out of tickets.

15. Relief from queue, no problems of change, and also get a discount of 5 per cent (on tickets up to 150 kms)

16. Simple procedure of getting unreserved tickets.

This is the first ATVM in Nagpur Division. Two ATVMs are commissioned initially. Passengers have requested to use this facility and give a feedback for improvements in this system. These ATVMs will also be provided at other major stations in near future. For any difficulty in getting Smart Card, tickets, etc. the passengers can contact the Chief Booking Supervisor, Nagpur, a press release issued by the Nagpur Division of Central Railway said.
