Nagpur: The Central Railway Nagpur Division, recognizing the challenges faced by farmers in accessing their fields during the monsoon season, has completed the construction of concrete roads and drainage systems which underpasses the Narkhed-Amravati railway line.
These underpasses, including Railway Net B. 218 24 Riddhpur Gate, Railway Gate No. 30 & 51 Khanapur Gate, Railway Gate No. 36 & 37 Moshi Bhet, Railway Gate No. 51 Warud gate, Railway Gate No. 54 Surli Gate, Railway Gate No. 58 Khairgaon Gate, Ganeshpur Railway Gate, and Benoda gate, were previously unpaved and lacked proper drainage. This situation caused significant difficulties for farmers, particularly during the rainy season when the underpasses became flooded and impassable.
However, these underpasses were initially built without concrete structures or proper drainage systems, causing significant inconvenience for farmers accessing their fields, particularly during the rainy season.
Addressing these concerns, the Central Railway Nagpur Division approved the construction of concrete roads and efficient drainage systems in the most critical underpasses. Following a thorough tender process, these enhancements have now been implemented, resulting in substantial improvements in accessibility and safety.
The newly constructed concrete roads and drainage systems have alleviated the waterlogging issues, ensuring uninterrupted access to agricultural fields.
The Division will continue to work towards further enhancements to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of the railway network.
