Central Railway Nagpur Division records 19.5% increase in total revenue in April-October 2014

DRM.CR.Nagpur O.P.SinghNagpur: Nagpur Division of Central Railway has earned revenue of Rs 1529.34 crore in the first seven months, from April to October, in the year 2014-15. The revenue recorded a 19.5 percent increase as compared to corresponding period last year. The Nagpur Division of Central Railway had earned revenue of Rs 1279.42 crore for the same period last year. The Nagpur Division reaped Rs 236.68 crore in the month of October, 2014 alone which is 19.1 percent more than the revenue of Rs 198.66 crore it earned last year for the same period.

The Nagpur Division earned Rs 1231.64 crore in the seven months i.e April-October 2014 on account of freight tariff which is 20 percent more than the revenue of Rs 1026.75 crore last year for the same period. It mopped up Rs 192.59 crore in the month of October alone and thus recorded 20.5 percent increase as compared to corresponding period last year. The Nagpur Division had earned Rs 159.89 crore last year for the same period.

Nagpur Division of Central Railway pocketed Rs 259.73 crore from passenger traffic in the seven months of April-October this year which is 18.9 percent more than the revenue of Rs 218.52 crore it earned last year for the same period. The Division filled its coffers by Rs 38.35 crore in the month of October alone, an increase of 17.4 percent as compared to corresponding period last year. It had earned Rs 32.66 crore last year for the same period, said a press release issued by P D Patil, PRO, Nagpur Division of Central Railway.
