Chamundi Explosives Blast in Nagpur Claims Eighth Victim

Nagpur: The death toll from the explosion at Chamundi Explosives Pvt Ltd in Dhamna (Turagondi) has tragically risen to eight, as another worker succumbed to severe burn injuries at Dande Hospital, Ravi Nagar Square, early Saturday morning. The latest victim, Shardha Patil (22) from Dhamna, passed away following intensive treatment.

On Friday night, Dansa Maraskolhe (26), originally from Madhya Pradesh, also succumbed to injuries sustained in the blast, pushing the death toll to seven. Dansa, who suffered extensive burns in the Thursday afternoon explosion, was immediately hospitalized at Dande Hospital.

In response to the incident, Nagpur Police promptly apprehended the director and manager of Chamundi Explosive Pvt. Ltd. Subsequently, the District and Sessions Court in Nagpur granted bail to the company’s owner, Jai Shivshankar Khemka, and manager, Sagar Deshmukh.

The blast claimed the lives of Pranjali Kisan Modre (22), Prachi Shrikant Falke (20), Vaishali Anandrao Kshirsagar (20), all residents of Dhamna, as well as Monali Shankarrao Aloney (27) from Neri, Sheetal Ashish Chatap (30), and Pannalal Bandewar (50) from Satnawri. These fatalities occurred at the scene of the explosion, while others injured were rushed to private hospitals for treatment. Sadly, three of those hospitalized have since passed away.
