Chatwala stoned to death over old enmity in Kachipura

Nagpur: A 35-year-old man was reportedly stoned to death by some unidentified assailants over an old enmity in the wee hours of Saturday. The deceased identified as Harish Raghunath Patel, was a resident of Kachipura and would sell pani-puri to earn livelihood. The incident occurred under jurisdiction of Bajaj Nagar police.

According to police sources, the accused had first attacked Patel with a sharp edged weapon on Kachipura main road, barely 200-200 meters from his house before stoned him to death at around 3 am. Patel was left lying in the pool of blood for entire night. In the morning when a local housemaid spotted his body, the matter came to fore. Following which the locals alerted the Bajaj Nagar police station.

The cops have registered the case of murder under Sections 302 of the IPC and probing further.
