Nagpur: Dr Ravindra alias Chhotu Bhoyar, the new member of Indian National Congress has set to contest Maharashtra Legislative Council (MLC) Elections against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Chandrashekar Bawankule.
In a late night development on Sunday, Chhotu Bhoyar had tendered resignation from BJP. In a two-line resignation letter to BJP city Chief Pravin Datke, he mentioned that he was resigning from primary membership of BJP owing to ‘personal reasons’.
Chhotu Bhoyar, on Monday morning joined Congress in the presence of Guardian Minister Dr Nitin Raut, Congress MLA Vikas Thakre and other senior Congress leaders. Following which, Congress decided to file Bhoyar as its candidate for MLC Elections.
“Those who came to the BJP from outside got a chance. BJP leaders are often insulted. There is a big rift in the party, ”alleged BJP corporator Chhotu Bhoyar. After joining the Congress today, he will contest the Nagpur District Assembly elections against Chandrashekhar Bawankule, said Chhotu Bhoyar.
