Nagpur: To mark the birth anniversary of the first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nahru on November 14, at Divisional Commissionerate, here in the city, Children’s Day was celebrated.
At the outset, Divisional Commissioner Anup Kumar garlanded a picture of Pt Nehru in the office premises in the presence of Dy Commissioner (GAD) Appasaheb Dhulaj and staff members.
In his address, Anup Kumar said, the credit of modernization of India in terms of scientific and technological development goes to Pt Nehru who loved children as well as roses most. For him, industries, factories, dockyards and dams were temples, he added.
The Children’s Day was also celebrated at the Collectorate, here. Resident Dy Collector Ravindra Kumbhare on this occasion garlanded a picture of Pt Nehru in the office and remembered his contribution to the nations.
Present on this occasion included Dy Collector Girish Joshi, Prakash Patil, M A Raut and staff members.
