Nagpur News: The power-packed “Ab ki bar Modi sarkar” slogan and Modi tsunami have both pushed the BJP-led NDA into history books with an unprecedented victory in Lok Sabha elections. This golden victory put the BJP’s Narendra Damodar Modi in Prime Minister’s saddle with style. And sailing on this tsunami wave, Nitin Gadkari carved out a superb win from Nagpur constituency along with 340-odd victories for NDA candidates across the country. Gadkari is among nine other BJP-Shiv Sena candidates who have emerged victorious in Vidarbha. People belonging to all sections of society across Nagpur reacted to Gadkari’s marvelous success with cheerful words and high expectations, too.
Nagpur Today spoke to some of the citizens in Shankar Nagar, Dharampeth, Sadar, Civil Lines, Mangalwari areas for their comments on this historic moment.
A group of people who had come to the Post-Office at Shankar Nagar Square was approached by Nagpur Today: Deepak Netke said that it is a good and promising sign that Gadkari has won. Citizens can now hope for necessary momentum I development. Amruta Netke said that there will be a positive change as was the cry of voters. Mangesh Dani was more than happy to say that it is a good feeling. A leader of Gadkari’s caliber is coming to power. “Good days are ahead.”
At Saraswati Vidyalaya, Principal Prabhuraman and Thakur opined that over the last few years, people of the city were craving for a change in the Government. They have had enough of the past Government. Finally, the change is coming and it is a reality. The new Government with BJP at the helm, it is hoped Gadkari will strive for development of city and thereby resolve umpteen problems of citizens particularly the youth. “We hope that he will work for the progress of the city and the state as a whole,” said the duo.
Assistant Manager of Idea Cellular Payal Ghosh stated, “We want a change for the people of the country, state and the city. I hope they do not ditch the aspirations the people have expected from these leaders and have voted for them in large numbers. I just hope they live up to the expectations of the people. Gadkari is right man.”
Garage owner Ajay Arvind Pandhe opined that the person who has worked for the development of the city and has proven his worth alone is winning. There is nothing surprising about the margin of Nitin Gadkari’s win. He added that Gadkari has not only worked for Nagpur city but for the entire Maharashtra. So he has won. “I am happy.”
Young man Shailendra Joshi said that “Good people should win. People who work should certainly come to power. The market is reacting positively and setting new records in anticipation of economic revival. It is good omen.”
Trader at Indian Coffee House Ramesh Kumar Lalwani said that this had to happen. It was expected. The citizens of the city, state and the nation were hassled by the Congress party. They had awaited for this change for quite some time. However, he added that if the party continues its good work, then this can lead to good governance in the long run.
Some senior citizens who were sitting in the Indian Coffee House including J T Joglekar, Sane, C K Sapre, Vasant Kulkarni said in chorus that we are definitely happy for we are finally liberated from Nehru Clan. We’ll be free from theGharana Shahi Raj. We hope that the change that was awaited for a long time to come. With Modi-led BJP Government at the Centre and Gadkari in the city will definitely bring good development activities.
Another senior citizen Bharat Amin said that I am happy because Gadkari has won. Ninad Pande added that I hope for a positive change in the governance.
Student of GS College of Commerce Nandini said that I am happy Gadkari has won. He will bring some positive change in various policies. Neha Chawla asserted said that with Gadkari’s victory, there will be no more corruption on development front in the city.
Another student of GS College Deepak Shahu said that Gadkari has won and I just hope he continues to do good things. He added that Congress Party has not done anything good so far, so let us hope that BJP does development work after they come to power.
A Cloth Merchant Wilson George reacted in hios own style and said, “It is good news that the country is witnessing a historic change. The change the new Government has promised should come as early as possible.” However, he went on to add that if the expectations of the people are not fulfilled, there would be another change.
An Event Manager Feroze Alam said that since most of the development activities were done by him during his tenure as PWD Minister, many people have voted for Gadkari expecting a similar development in Nagpur again and whole of Maharashtra as well. His winning will be a wholesome benefit for all of us.
Authorized dealer of Taparia Tools, Tarun Mehra said that a positive change that was expected for a long time has finally come. Many development activities and a separate Vidarbha are expected by the people from Gadkari. Let us hope he lives up to the expectations.
