Nagpur: Salman Khan is once again embroiled in another controversy. Salman Khan had allegedly made a comment during an interview that after shooting for a gruelling wrestling scene for Sultan, he used to feel like a raped woman.
After this comment went viral, the Mahila Aghadi of Rashtravadi Congress Party (Women’s Wing of NCP) went to Sitabuldi Police Station and sang Bhajan and a complaint with the Sitabuldi Police Station claiming that Salman Khan should be booked under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code for molestation. Taking serious cognizance to that comment, the complainants were identified State President NCP Mahila Congress (Mumbai) Chitra Wagh filed a case on behalf of Social Worker Nutan Chhaganrao Rewatkar and fifty other women.
The women’s organization claimed that Salman Khan’s comment that he used to feel like a raped woman after a gruelling film shooting, was insulting and molesting not one woman but women at large. The Women’s Wing of NCP (Nagpur) strongly objected to the statement and has lodged a complaint with Sitabuldi Police Station against Salman Khan.
The Women activists have threatened that if this complaint is not registered, they will hit the streets and will stage protests against the Actor. The women sang Bhajans inside the Police Station premises and later staged silent protest (by tying black ribbons around their mouths) at Rani Jhansi Square.
Those present on the occasion include Pragati Patil, Nutan Rewatkar, Alka Kamble, Rekha Kupale, Vidhya Selukar, Sangeeta Khobragade, Sharda Shahu, Shobha Bhagat, Deepti Kalmegh, Veena Pokle, Archana Harde, Archana Wau, Varsha Shamkule, Babita Meher, Nanda Chaudhari, Pratibha Wasnik and others.
While speaking to Nagpur Today, In-Charge of Sitabuldi Police Station Satyaveer Bandiwar, said that the matter has occurred outside Nagpur’s jurisdiction. This matter needs to be investigated and the Mumbai counterparts will investigate the issue and then a case will be registered.
It remains to be seen if the police register the case or transfer the complaint to Mumbai cops?
Salman Khan’s dad apologises for his son’s rape comment
Salman Khan’s rape comment has landed him in a huge controversy. The actor, in an interview said, that after shooting for the gruelling wrestling scene for Sultan, he used to feel like a raped woman.
Though, he did later say that — ‘I don’t think this should be used’, this statement had already gone viral and Khan received flak for it.
While Salman Khan is yet to speak on this issue, his father Salim Khan has expressed his views on twitter. He posted, “Undoubtedly what Salman said is wrong, the simili, example and the context. The intention was not wrong.”
He added, “Nevertheless I apologise on behalf of his family his fans & his friends. Forgiveness is to pardon the unpardonable or it is no virtue at all. To err is human to forgive divine. Today on International Yoga Day, let’s not run our shops on this mistake.”
