City records 3.5 degrees rise in minimum temp in just 24 hours

Nagpur: Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) is predicting light rains in one or two places of Vidarbha in next 24 hours due to a cyclonic circulation which developed over Rajasthan and travelled across central parts of the country.

Due to the weather activities, Nagpur, on Wednesday, observed cloudy weather throughout the day and due to that city recorded a 3.5 degree rise in minimum temperature in last 24 hours. Nagpur, on Wednesday, recorded minimum temperature of 17 degrees Celsius whereas the cloudy weather caused drop in maximum temperature.

The cyclonic circulation which developed over Rajasthan may cause light showers on Thursday in some parts of Vidarbha. The months of January and February are usually the driest months for Central India. A fresh Western disturbance is approaching Western Himalayas which will induce a cyclonic circulation over Northwest Rajasthan.

Minimum temperatures are expected to increase overVidarbha leading to some relief from cold weather conditions.

On Wednesday, Akola (17.7 degrees Celsius), Amravati (18.1 degrees Celsius), Buldhana (17.2 degrees Celsius), Bramhapuri (16.8 degrees Celsius), Chandrapur (17.2 degrees Celsius),Wardha (17.6 degrees Celsius) and Yavatmal (2.0 degrees Celsius) experienced more than 2 degrees celsius increase in minimum temperature in just 24 hours. Gadchiroli experienced the highest 5 degrees Celsius change in minimum temperature in 24 hours. Due to cloudy weather most of the places in Vidarbha recorded dip in maximum temperature by 1-2 degrees on Wednesday.
