City’s UCN cable found guilty under copyright act, police raids the property


Nagpur: The UNC cable network was raided on Thursday and a FIR was filed by the police. The Sitabuldi police station of Nagpur raided the premises of UCN cable network at Ramdaspeth after the representative of Shemaroo entertainment Company filed a FIR against the owners Ashutosh Kane and Ajay Khamkar for copyright violation.

The cable network according to the FIR have been using Shemaroo entertainment’s content and playing their movies, however they have not taken the necessary rights and have been playing them illegally.

The UCN network had a entered into a deal with Shemaroo two years back to use their content, however the did not make the payment. Even the contract ended earlier this year. At last Shemaroo’s representatives recorded the movies and content played by the UCN cable in Nagpur and complained to the police.
