Nagpur: Reports have emerged of a heated altercation between two groups at the Pirates Pub in Dharampeth. The incident resulted in injuries to two young men from the opposing factions, escalating concerns over violence at the establishment located on Dharampeth’s West High Court Road.

Mirza Aslan Faheem Beg (23, Mahal) and Om Kathale had arrived with their friends at the Pirates Pub on Monday night to celebrate. Bobby alias Prashant Dhotre (36, Om Nagar), Piyush alias Hrishikesh Waghmare (24, Reshimbagh), Rinki Jadhav (35), and Shreyansh Shah (22, Juni Juni Shukrabi) were among those dancing at the establishment. An argument ensued between Aslan and Rocky while dancing, leading to a scuffle. Aslan, retaliating, hit Rocky with a beer bottle, injuring him.

When Om rushed to Aslan’s aid, Rocky’s friends Piyush and Shreyansh began assaulting Om. Prashant then attacked Aslan with a chair. Subsequently, all four accused fled the pub. Upon receiving information, the police reached the scene. Aslan, who was injured, was taken to Mayo Hospital for treatment. Based on Aslan’s complaint, Ambazari police have registered a case against the accused.

The repeated incidents of violence at the pub have raised questions about the lack of control over the situation. Some patrons are flouting regulations, leading to breaches of conduct. Following these incidents, youths can be seen wandering in various parts of the city, engaging in street fights, especially in Dharampeth, Shivajinagar, Ambazari, Sadar, and Orange Street areas, prompting public outcry against the issue of civic pubs.
