Nagpur: Contradictory statements by top officials on the pending medicines bills of Government Medical College & Hospital (GMCH) makes Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in a review meeting held on Monday to discuss the problems prevailing in GMCH, Super Speciality hospital and IGGMC. GMCH dean claimed that a bill of 21 crore is pending to be cleared, however, the director of health education claimed that 2 crore of medicine bill is pending.
Fadnavis immediately asked the top officials to find a solution on this issue and directed the concerned official to submit master plan of the construction work by Wednesday. Health education minister Vinod Tawde, MLAs Dr Milind Mane, Sudhakar Kohle, Sameer Meghe, additional secretary, health education department Medha Gadgil, director of health education department Dr Pravin Shingare, dean of GMCH Dr Abhimanyu Niswade, Dr Manish Shrigiriwar and others were present on the occasion. During the meeting Fadnavis asked the concerned top officials to get a detailed report on the problems prevailing in both the hospitals.
The CM also indicated of increasing the power of the dean for purchasing the medicines. During the meeting MLA Sudhakar Kohle raised the issue of shortage of ventilators in GMCH and asked for increasing the number of beds in the GMCH.
During the meeting the issue of shortage of manpower in trauma care centre, problems prevailing in TB ward were also discussed.
