College accountant booked for siphoning off Rs 13 lakh

Nagpur: The Rana Pratap Nagar police have booked Gulshan Verma (31), an accountant at Shatayu College of Professional Studies, for allegedly siphoning off admission fees totaling Rs 13 lakh from college students. Verma, a resident of Gurudatta Housing Society, Narendra Nagar, had been employed with the institution for eight years.

According to police reports, Verma created a UPI ID and diverted the admission fees of students into his personal bank account.

A case has been registered against him under Sections 408, 420, and 465 of the Indian Penal Code by the Rana Pratap Nagar police.
