Company Owner and Manager Arrested in Nagpur Explosion Case

Nagpur: The owner and manager of Chamundi Explosives Company in Dhamna, Nagpur have been arrested following a catastrophic explosion that resulted in six fatalities and left seven to eight others critically injured.

The explosion occurred around 1:30 PM on June 13 at the Chamundi Explosives Company in Dhamna. The deceased have been identified as Pannalal Bandewar, Sheetal Ashish Chatak, Pranjali Shrikant Phalke, Vaishali Anandrao Kshirsagar, Monali Shankar Alone, and Pranjali Kisan Modare. Among the critically injured are Pramod Murlidhar Chaware, Shraddha Vanraj Patil, and Dansa Fulnasa Marskohle.

Anurag Bandewar, the son of one of the victims, Pannalal Bandewar, lodged a complaint at the Hingna police station. Based on his complaint, police have filed charges under Sections 286, 304-A, and 338 against the company’s owner, Jai Shivshankar Khemka, and manager, Sagar Deshmukh.

The company was engaged in the production of safety fuses and microcords using gunpowder.
