Nagpur: The Israel-Palestine conflict has ignited debates worldwide, and Nagpur is no exception.
Following the death threat controversy, another complaint has been lodged against an influencer for allegedly hurting religious sentiments by using hate speech targeting a particular community.
This is the third such complaint in Nagpur in the past few days.
Members of the minority community from the Second Capital of the State have written to Commissioner of Police Dr. Ravindra Singhal and DCP (Cyber) Archit Chandak regarding a serious matter involving hate speech and misinformation spread through an Instagram account.
On May 31st, around 6 PM, the Instagram user deliberately used hate speech targeting a particular community. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, some community members have written to the Nagpur Police, urging immediate action to remove the video and address the spread of hate speech and misinformation by the said account.
“The individual responsible for this video is also liable for punishment under Section 153A, Section 295A, and Section 504 of the Indian Penal Code, as well as Section 66A of the Information Technology Act, 2008,” reads the complaint.
