Computer hardware seller loses Rs 18 lakh in share trading fraud

Nagpur: Cyber fraudsters duped a youth who sells computer hardware and materials of Rs 18.06 lakh under the guise of share trading.

The computer hardware vendor, identified as Dattu Hiraman Mankar (35), a resident of Sharda Nagar, Date Layout, Jaitala, Nagpur, was targeted by the fraudsters.

According to police, on May 20, at 11 am, Mankar was contacted from a mobile number 44741851863. The caller lured him to invest through their mobile application for share trading and promised huge returns. As a result, Mankar started investing in share trading. After initially showing profits, Mankar invested Rs 18.06 lakh at different times.

However, when he was unable to withdraw the amount later including principal or additional profits, he realised the fraud. Mankar approached the police and lodged a complaint. An offence under various Sections of IPC and IT Act was registered by MIDC police.
