‘Contract killer’ targeting Ayurvedic doctor nabbed in Nagpur

Nagpur: The Unit 3 of Crime Branch of Nagpur Police arrested a suspected ‘contract killer’ from Madhya Pradesh, for planning a murder of an Ayurvedic doctor in Nagpur.

The accused has been identified as Ashish Jagdish Sharma (34), a resident of Anjani Nagar, Bhind, Madhya Pradesh.

According to police, Ashish, along with his accomplices Amit Rajveer Sharma (30) and Rahul (30) from Uttar Pradesh, came to Nagpur with the intention to rob and murder an Ayurvedic doctor.

A police team was on patrol near a hotel in the Kotwali Police Station limits. The police observed the trio acting suspiciously and went after them. They managed to nab Ashish while two others escaped. They checked his bag and found two country pistols and nine live cartridges.

During interrogation, Ashish disclosed his intent to rob and murder an Ayurvedic doctor in Nagpur. The police are actively searching for the two absconding accomplices and the main culprit.

Under the guidance of DCP Detection Nimit Goyal, the arrest was made by Police Inspector Mukund Thakre, API Samadhan Bajbalkar, PSI Madhukar Kathoke, and their team.
