Cops raid hookah parlour at Firangi Restaurant in Pachpaoli, owner arrested

Nagpur: Acting on a tip-off, Pachpaoli police on Tuesday night raided a hookah parlour being operated from Firangi Restaurant which is situated at a terrace of an apartment building. The owner of the hookah parlour, Pawan Parmanand Moryani was found providing hookah pots, tobacco and other banned stuff to customers including a few youngsters. The raiding cops seized all the hookah pots and other material.

Pachpaoli police received inputs that the hookah parlour was being run from Firangi Restaurant situated at the terrace of Sainath Apartment, Kamal Square. Subsequently, a team of cops, led by PSI P R Ingle, carried out raid at the hookah parlour around 7.30 pm on Tuesday.

The accused owner of the hookah parlour, Pawan Moryani, resident of Sainath Apartment, was booked under Sections 4, 21 of Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA), 2003 and placed under arrest.

Raid was conducted under the guidance of DCP Zone 3 Rahul Maknikar, ACP Walchand Mundhe and PI Narendra Hiwre.
