Nagpur: Tall claims of police department of curbing the dance bars in the city failed when a special team, under the leadership of DCP Avinash Kumar, raided NeedosBar near Yeshwant Stadium on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday.
As per details, DCP Kumar got information about late night orchestras in NeedosBar. Early Thursday morning around 1.30 pm, the team discovered that the orchestra was still on. The team of police officials reached the bar and demanded the licence. The police told that the licence had not been renewed for the year. Thus, cops took four bar girls into their custody while six visitors were also taken for investigations.
Cops have registered an offence of RW 131 of Mumbai BP Act and have started their investigations. However, the raid has put questions on the patrolling of Sitabuldi police under who’s jurisdiction the bar was being run without any fear of law.
According to reports, after the investigations the bar girls have released.
