Nagpur: A couple has been booked by Sadar police for defrauding a man of Rs 20.59 lakh under the guise of developing his agricultural land in Nagpur.
According to the police, Parag Rabindra Lashkare (34), residing on Red Cross Road, Sadar, took steps to enhance his 75-acre farm in the Chincholi area of Hingna tehsil in Nagpur. He named it Mahavir Krishi Kendra with the goal of boosting farm income.
In 2018, the accused Ashish Kaswa and his wife Sujata, Directors of Venu Vatika Company, approached Parag at his office in Gandhi Square, Sadar. They offered agricultural development services and advice. Parag agreed to collaborate with them and paid them Rs 30.14 lakh for the project.
However, the accused couple only completed work valued at Rs 9.55 lakh and refused to continue. Additionally, they declined to refund the remaining Rs 20.59 lakh. Parag filed a complaint with the police. When the police did not take action, Parag approached the court. Following the court’s directive, Sadar police have registered a fraud case.
