Couple dupes 2 men of Rs 1.11 cr promising high returns

Nagpur: A couple was booked by Hudkeshwar police for committing financial fraud to the tune of Rs 1.11 crore by promising high returns to two investors.

The accused have been identified as Rahul Abasaheb Hepat (46) and Anjali Rahul Hepat (40), both residents of Plot No. 401, Suyog Apartment, Shivshakti Nagar, Manewada Road.

According to the complaint filed by Deepak Prabhakar Johri (42), a resident of Plot No. 106, Adhyapak Nagar, Manewada Ring Road, the accused conspired and lured him into investing in a computer firm — ARP Computer Firm — and showed an order to convince them that they had received a tender from VNIT College.

The accused received an investment of Rs 1.11 crore from Johri and his friend Diwakar Bhende by allegedly promising that they were supplying material worth Rs 75.00 lakh. The plaintiff, Johri, identified the accused as the masterminds of the fraud and stated that he invested Rs 75 lakh in the computer firm through draft and cheque. The accused, who owns ARP Computer Firm, allegedly did not return the investment amount and committed financial fraud.

The Hudkeshwar Police have registered a case against the accused under Sections 420, 467, 468, 34 IPC based on the complaint. The accused are currently being searched, and further investigation is underway.
