Nagpur: A husband-wife duo thrashed a man and injured him over a mobile phone in Pardi police area on Thursday night. The accused husband has been arrested in the case.
The complainant, a resident of Bhandewadi, Deep Nagar, behind Gajanan Maharaj Mandir, Deepak Chandrabhan Bhagat (41), sat in front of his house around 7.30 pm. At the same time, the accused Pintu Rajput Wanjari (36) and his wife, residing in the same locality, came there and picked up a quarrel with Deepak. The accused questioned Deepak as to why he was lying about the theft of his mobile phone as the phone was in his house itself. Even before Deepak could come to sense, the accused couple started attacking him with a waist belt and also bit on Deepak’s nose causing a serious injury to him. The accused husband-wife duo also threatened Deepak of dire consequences.

Pardi PSI Mahadik, based on the complaint of Deepak, booked the Wanjari couple under Sections 325, 294, 506(B), 34 of the IPC. Cops have arrested Pintu Rajput and are probing the matter further.
