Nagpur: In a significant development in the Ram Jhula accident case in Nagpur, the District and Sessions Court dismissed the Tehsil police’s revision applications seeking the arrest of Ritika Malu. The police had filed these applications after the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) twice refused to permit Malu’s arrest.
The incident, which occurred on February 25, involved Malu allegedly driving her Mercedes recklessly while under the influence of alcohol. The car collided with an Activa scooter, resulting in the deaths of both riders, Mohd Hussain Gulam Mustafa and Mohd Ateef Mohd Zia. One died on the spot, while the other succumbed to injuries during treatment.
Despite the police’s efforts to overturn the JMFC’s decision, the Sessions Court upheld the lower court’s ruling, marking a critical point in the case.
