Cow traffickers attempt to run over Nagpur cops near Kamptee

Nagpur: In a shocking incident, cow traffickers reportedly tried to run over cops in a bid to escape arrest near Pardi-Kanhan Road near Kamptee here on Wednesday, May 8. Despite their efforts, the perpetrators managed to evade capture, escaping with the vehicle. Currently, authorities are actively engaged in a search operation to apprehend the suspects.

According to reliable sources, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Crime, Nimit Goel, received crucial intelligence indicating that the individuals involved were planning to transport cows using the said vehicle. Acting swiftly on this information, Goel directed Police Inspector Rahul Shire from Unit 5 of the Crime Branch to take decisive action.

Under the cover of Wednesday night, at approximately 8 o’clock, Shire, along with three of his trusted colleagues, laid an ambush along the Pardi-Kanhan road. Positioned strategically in their vehicle, the police awaited the arrival of the suspected perpetrators.

As the vehicle associated with the slaughtering activities approached, the police signaled for it to halt. However, disregarding the lawful command, the suspects continued their course, prompting the police to take evasive action.

In an attempt to intercept the fleeing vehicle, the police maneuvered to block its path, resulting in a collision. Despite their valiant efforts, the perpetrators managed to redirect their vehicle onto an alternate route, evading capture.

Although the police were unable to apprehend the cow slaughterers during this operation, they have initiated legal proceedings and intensified efforts to locate and bring the perpetrators to justice.
